- In a fresh development of the Rs 60 crore fraud case, Raj Kundra has allegedly claimed that a part of the amount was paid to actresses Bipasha Basu and Neha Dhupia.
- Karan Kundra claimed in his statement to the Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW), which is investigating the case.
- According to sources, Kundra alleged that a portion of the amount in question was paid as fees to Bipasha Basu and Neha Dhupia.
- However, during the five-hour-long questioning, Kundra reportedly remained silent on several crucial points, forcing the EOW to plan more rounds of questioning.
Direct fund transfers to Shilpa Shetty’s account
- According to reports, investigators have found that funds were directly transferred from the company’s accounts to the accounts of four actresses, including Shilpa Shetty, Bipasha Basu, and Neha Dhupia.
- Also, transactions were made to Balaji Entertainment. So far, the EOW has tracked nearly Rs 25 crore in direct transfers.
- The investigation further shed light on the issue where during demonetization, the company faced a cash crunch, during which suspicious fund transfers were made to several other accounts.
- Evidence of these transfers have now been secured by the EOW.
EOW asks Kundra to submit videos produced for “Best Deal”
- Businessman Karan Kundra has been asked to submit videos produced for “Best Deal”.
- Although, Kundra claimed that the videos had been handed over to the Property Cell, investigators plan to take them into custody again for further examination.
- The investigation remains ongoing, with more names coming out.
- The EOW will be summoning other individuals linked to the Rs 60 crore fraud case in the coming days.
- The Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has recently recorded Karan Kundra’s statement in connection to the Rs 60 crore fraud case.
- In a statement, Mumbai Police shared an update in the case and said, “Investigations are going on against actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra in an alleged fraud case of Rs. 60 crore. A summon was issued by the Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai Police to Raj Kundra. He was asked to appear before police for the investigation."
