Nightmare for Jagan Reddy!
  • MLA of TDP Raghurama Krishna Raj lodged a complaint against the erstwhile Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy. An FIR has been registered against in a case regarding ‘an attempt to murder.’ Along with him, two senior IPS officers and two retired officials were booked as well after a complaint was lodged by.
  • The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA from Undi assembly constituency, K Raghurama Krishna Raju lodged a formal complaint which led the Andhra police officially listed the case.
  • Krishna Raju claimed that police complaint mail was sent a month back which met no response. Finally, he went ahead and registered the case.
  • IPC Sections 120 B, 166, 167, 197, 307, 326, 465 and 506 read with 34 have been levied on Jagan Mohan Reddy along with the others concerned. Police exercised the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as the case is three years old.
  • And this is the not the first time the former CM has been booked for criminal cases. Eary records show 31 criminal cases are due against Jagan Mohan Reddy. While Reddy had filed the affidavit filed along with the nomination papers as party candidate for Pulivendula Assembly Constituency in Kadapa district, the nomination clearly mentioned 31 criminal pending cases. And the very same affidavit also stated that he has not yet been convicted in a single criminal case so far.
Reddy in row of controversy
  • Jagan Mohan Reddy’s flamboyant life has never gone unnoticed. During his tenure as the Chief Minister, a luxurious bungalow was constructed atop the scenic beach-front Rushikonda Hills in Visakhapatnam.
  • The newly formed government in 2024 led by N Chandrababu Naidu found this infrastructure nothing but a massive white elephant!!!
  • When the YSR Congress Party returned to power for the second time, Jagan Mohan Reddy had declared Vishakhapatnam as the ‘executive capital of the state.’ The former CM had elaborate plans while he was serving his term. He desired to transfer his residence and office to this particular palace and function from Visakhapatnam. However, the election results turned earth-shattering for Jagan’s plans to shift his residence.
  • Reddy has been popular for his extravagant lifestyle choices. According to government sources 986 personnel were deployed from different police wing were deployed for Jagan’s security.
  • On another occasion, sparks flew on the amount of public money spent Reddy’s camp office.
  • The state government spent Rs 40 crore from public exchequer to but furniture for Reddy’s house.

    31 criminal cases coupled with opulent lifestyle of the former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has often layered his tenure with controversies. And when we are talking of Jagan Mohan Reddy, how can we evade mentioning decade old rivalry with N.Chandrababu Naidu. The current Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu have blamed Jagan Reddy to have ruined the power sector, as the state has suffered over Rs 1.29 lakh crore in losses in the power sector.
